A New Chapter for West Oxford: The Move Clinic Partners with Mind Over Matters

At The Move Clinic, we are incredibly proud and excited to officially announce our partnership with Mind Over Matters Fitness Centre in West Oxford.

This is a partnership that means a great deal to us, not only professionally, but personally and as part of the local community.

Over the past few years, it has been extremely upsetting to see the uncertainty surrounding the previous university campus gym and fitness facility. Following the loss of the swimming pool two years ago, West Oxford was at real risk of losing one of its only accessible fitness and wellbeing spaces entirely. For many people, this facility represented far more than just a gym. It was a place for exercise, rehabilitation, social connection, and community.

That is why what is happening now is so important.

The Move Clinic has been working alongside Mind Over Matters over the last 12 months, and thanks to the incredible hard work, passion, and determination of the new manager Megan and her team, the centre is not only staying open, but it is preparing for a huge revival.

This is an exciting opportunity for West Oxford and the wider Botley community.

The centre is continuing to expand its offering with:

  • Gym memberships and fitness access

  • Group exercise classes

  • Racket sports

  • Community focused wellbeing initiatives

  • An imminent café space designed to bring people together

Most importantly, it is becoming a hub for health, rehabilitation, fitness, and connection.

At The Move Clinic, we are working closely with Megan and the team to build a strong long term relationship that will allow us to expand both our capacity and the services we provide to the local community. We are incredibly excited about the opportunity to improve access to:

  • Rehabilitation physiotherapy

  • Sports injury management

  • Pelvic health services

  • Biofeedback facilities

  • Strength and conditioning support

  • Community health and wellbeing initiatives

We genuinely believe this could become something very special for West Oxford, a facility that gives people the opportunity not only to improve their fitness and health, but also to meet others, feel supported, and become part of a thriving local community.

It is a hugely exciting time, and with continued support, collaboration, and like minded people coming together, we hope this can develop into a facility that Botley can be truly proud of.

We would strongly encourage local residents, gym users, sports clubs, and the wider community to support this movement. Megan has worked tirelessly to make this possible, and the passion behind the project is clear for everyone to see.

Here’s to an exciting 2026 as we continue to grow our team, expand our services, and support what we believe is going to become a fantastic new chapter for health, fitness, and rehabilitation in West Oxford.
